For an exclusive interview we have the makers of the collective DDoSecrets on the pipe. In contrast to other disclosure platforms, most leaks are not published on a website, but by telegram. Many actions are also announced on Twitter.
Distributed Denial of Secrets fights against dictatorships, corruption, police violence, tax evaders and much more
Last month the public prosecutor’s office in Zwickau confiscated a server located in Germany. The reason was the so-called BlueLeaks, which activists of Distributed Denial of Secrets circulated. They distributed no less than 269 gigabytes, which had originally been hacked by a member of Anonymous. The extensive leak includes US police reports and documents. It includes bank details, names, email addresses, emails with attachments, phone numbers, photos, videos, etc. pp. After receiving a request for legal assistance, the responsible public prosecutor’s office became active the previous month.
Leak of John Bolton’s e-book caused glowing wires
Distributed Denial of Secrets has published data on tax havens, chats from neo-Nazi groups and e-mails from the Chilean military, to name but a few examples. In June, the collective previously published the book by Trump critic John Bolton. The Icelandic activist Birgitta Jónsdóttir was hired as an advisor, who supports the group in an advisory capacity along with many other people. However, Jónsdóttir is obviously not involved in the implementation or organisation of the unveiling platform.

Most information about new publications can be obtained from the telegram channel Confidential & Proprietary, which is run by a friendly activist. When it comes to Wikileaks, the world’s best-known disclosure platform, participants tend to take a rather sceptical view. Wikileaks co-founder and boss Julian Assange is often driven by the desire for ego-stimulation. He has thus often pushed the actual goals of such an organization into the background. One could also say that he betrayed them. With DDoSecrets, on the other hand, no single person should be in the foreground.
Note: The name of the group has nothing in common with a regular DDoS attack, by the way. And if only in the form that no servers but the readers are bombarded with read information …
Deadline for questions to DDoSecrets ends on 20 th of August 2020 !
What do you want to know from the operators? They face a public interview for the first time! Our deadline ends in exactly 14 days. Until then you have enough time to come up with some questions for the interview. The rest will be – as usual – contributed by the editorial staff.
Update
We had to cancel the interview. Tillie Kottmann is obivously not a member of Distributed Denial of Secrets. We asked him several times what’s going on with his answers and only got the answer, that he was too busy to reply them.
